Top 25 Most Fuel Efficient Cars of 2008

June 8, 2008. It shouldn't be surprising that the top 5 most fuel efficient cars on this list are hybrids. It is quite impressive also to note that a few SUV truck hybrids actually made it into the top 5 ranking as well. It should also be noted that the Prius - the long-time hybrid leader since it's introduction in 2000, accounts for roughly half of all hybrid sales as of 2008. This is especially interesting since the Prius has been sold out many times over the past year, so it's market share would be much higher than 50% if Toyota could actually keep up with the demand!
